business activities

The William Demant Group is a global market leader in hearing healthcare. We develop, manufacture and sell products and equipment that help people with hearing loss connect and communicate with the world around them. We focus on four business activities: Hearing Devices, Hearing Implants, Diagnostic Instruments and Personal Communication.

Our companies collaborate in many areas and to a wide extent also share resources and technologies.

All companies in our Group work closely together in the entire value chain from purchasing and manufacturing to R&D, marketing and sales. All companies, however, have their own organisation and unique identity in order to service their individual markets in the best possible way.

The development, manufacture and wholesale of hearing aids is the core business of William Demant. Our Hearing Devices business activity comprises three brands: Oticon, Bernafon and Sonic. The continuous flow of new, attractive products is necessary, so the brands seek to be at the very forefront of innovation by launching new products on a regular basis. The range of brands and devices means that William Demant has a solid position in the market. In the high-end market segment, the Group has a relatively high market share. To enable end-users to hear what goes on at public venues, such as churches, in classrooms, in theatres etc., our companies Phonic Ear and FrontRow deliver sound and amplification solutions.
