Hi! My name is Lars Danielson and I started as a Finance Graduate at Demant in 2022. I studied my Master’s degree in Finance & Strategic Management at Copenhagen Business School along with a CEMS Master’s in International Management (double degree).
There are several great aspects of being a Graduate at Demant, which persuaded me to join the programme. First, you have the possibility to go abroad on one of your rotations, which is a great way of gaining international experience. I have previously worked abroad, and I wish to pursue an international career in the future. Joining the Demant graduate programme is a great step towards achieving this goal.
Second, during the two years of the graduate programme, I get to work in 4 different teams and gain knowledge and experience from four different areas of finance. As a person I am very curious and eager to learn, and I believe working within different areas of the business will better enable me to take on a leadership role later in my career.
Finally, a great benefit of being a graduate is the great community between current and former graduates within the company. The connection between the graduates is forged from day one and the current graduates take a large role in onboarding and welcoming the new graduates.
My first rotation is in the Treasury and Cash Management team at Demant’s headquarters. One of my first projects has been to create a standardized process for our intercompany funding, meaning how we fund our subsidiaries and activities across the globe. When doing so, we need to consider a wide range of factors including optimization of liquid funds, taxes, transfer pricing, reporting and legal requirements. You also need to coordinate with many different stakeholders from different departments and countries, which has been both exciting and challenging.
