Martin Merforth
Education: M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering & Management at DTU
Start in Demant: September 2025
Hello, my name is Martin and I am the Global Operations Graduate in the 2025 batch of the Demant Graduate Programme. I am from central Germany and moved to Copenhagen for my Master’s degree at DTU two years ago. Now, after two long winters in Denmark and countless new experiences, I couldn’t be more excited to be working at Demant, learning and contributing every day.
While I knew for a while that I would ideally want to pursue a Graduate Program after my graduation, I also really prioritized working in an industry and company with a strong purpose and values that I identify with. Demant intuitively felt like a great fit, and getting to know the company better during the well-organized and streamlined application process only reinforced that it’s an incredible place to work and grow. Most companies talk about their values and culture, but at Demant I could feel from the first moment that they’re actually lived every day.
Being a graduate in this environment feels really special: the programme is well-established, yet the group of graduates is relatively small, so you become part of a close cohort that quickly turns from colleagues into friends. Through them, you also have a link to all the different business areas in Demant and hear insightful stories from all across the company. Within Operations, I felt from day one how unique the opportunity is: you’re exposed to a lot that can seem overwhelming at first, but it helps you grow and build new skills. At the same time, there are always people by your side to support and guide you.
In my current rotation, I am part of Global Procurement, working with several projects and initiatives within the area and beyond. Through those, I get direct exposure to Demant’s products and the primary stakeholders.
If you have any kind of questions or would like to have a chat about my experience with the Demant Graduate Programme, feel free to reach out and I will get back to you!
