People is our focus. To support the Ukrainian people deeply affected by the escalating humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, William Demant Foundation who is the majority owner of Demant donates DKK 9 million (approx. USD 1.35 million) to international relief initiatives.

William Demant Foundation is allocating DKK 7 million (just above USD 1 million) to UNICEF, who is scaling up emergency response across Ukraine and the wider region. Furthermore, William Demant Foundation allocates DKK 2 million (approx. USD 300,000) to employee initiatives of the Demant Group supporting organisations in Ukraine and Poland predominantly.

“My thoughts and concerns go to all the people affected by the tragic events that are taking place in and outside Ukraine, not the least our employees from Ukraine, Russia and Poland, who are directly and indirectly affected and are going through very tough times. Our focus is on people and to help ease the situation for the many innocent civils in and outside Ukraine and to meet the growing needs of children and families, including those on the move.” Says Søren Nielsen, CEO of Demant

Demant channels our pure philanthropic activities through our majority owner William Demant Foundation, based on a wish to separate grants and donations from the commercial activities of the brands within the Group. We believe that this model allows us to allocate resources to people and society in the best possible way.
